Lula maintains a commanding position in Rio Grande do Norte first-round voting intentions, with recent Quaest polling from mid-to-late August 2026 showing him at 54-56% among state voters, more than double the nearest rival. This reflects the Northeast region's established pattern of strong support for the incumbent president and PT-aligned candidates, reinforced by Lula's late-August campaign visit to Natal that emphasized local alliances. Fragmented opposition support, with Flávio Bolsonaro around 19-20% and all other named contenders at 2% or below, further consolidates the frontrunner's lead. Trader consensus assigns Lula a 96% implied probability of finishing first locally. A late shift could occur from major national scandals, health developments, or an unexpected consolidation of center-right or anti-incumbent votes, though current polling and regional dynamics indicate limited immediate pressure on the outcome.
