Lula's commanding 96.2% market price for first place in the Paraíba first round reflects recent state polling showing him at 50-55% support, well ahead of Flávio Bolsonaro at 21-26% and single-digit figures for names such as Ronaldo Caiado, Renan Santos, and others. This positioning aligns with Lula's established strength in the Northeast, where government approval stands near 55-61% and rejection rates remain lower than competitors'. Recent Quaest and Real Time Big Data surveys from August 2026 confirm the gap, consistent with broader regional patterns. Traders appear to price in limited near-term volatility, though shifts in national economic conditions, candidate registration rulings, or late campaign developments could narrow the margin before the October vote.
