Lula maintains a commanding 95.5% trader consensus to finish first in Paraíba’s October 4 first-round vote, reflecting the state’s status as a Northeast stronghold where the incumbent Workers’ Party candidate has historically secured wide margins. Recent alignment from Paraíba political figures, including Chamber of Deputies Speaker Hugo Motta’s August announcement of support for Lula’s reelection, reinforces this positioning amid national first-round polls showing Lula at 38–41%. Opposition candidates such as Flávio Bolsonaro remain fragmented nationally and lack comparable regional penetration. Scenarios that could alter the outcome include major late-campaign shifts in turnout among key voting blocs, significant policy developments affecting the Northeast economy, or unforeseen legal or health events impacting the frontrunner before election day.
