Lula maintains a commanding lead in Ceará first-round presidential voting intentions, with recent July and August 2026 polls showing him at 54-65% against single-digit or low-20% support for rivals including Flávio Bolsonaro. This positioning reflects the state's consistent Northeast regional pattern of strong backing for the incumbent PT administration, reinforced by 67% government approval ratings and Lula's 2022 performance exceeding 69% in the second round there. Trader consensus aligns with these polling trends and the absence of major late-cycle shifts in local coalitions or national economic conditions that could erode the base. Potential challengers would require substantial erosion of this support through sustained negative developments or an unexpected surge by another listed contender, outcomes that current data do not indicate.
