Baba Malam Wali holds an overwhelming lead in trader consensus for the February 2027 Yobe gubernatorial election as the All Progressives Congress nominee. He secured the APC ticket through a May 2026 primary victory with more than 236,000 votes, following earlier stakeholder consensus, and received explicit endorsements from incumbent Governor Mai Mala Buni and former Governor Ibrahim Geidam. Additional backing from all 17 local government chairmen, traditional emirs, and party structures has reinforced his position in the APC-dominant state. Minor opposition aspirants and other listed candidates reflect fragmented alternatives with negligible organizational strength or recent momentum. Ongoing reconciliation efforts within the APC and appeals for unity have further consolidated support ahead of the general election.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Yobe State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.
