AfD maintains a clear lead in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag polls ahead of the September 20 election, with recent surveys from INSA and Infratest dimap placing the party at 36 percent against the incumbent SPD at 29 percent. This gap, stable for months amid broader eastern German trends favoring the AfD, underpins trader consensus that the party will secure the most seats. The SPD has narrowed the margin slightly in mid-August polling, yet remains behind its 2021 result, while CDU, Greens, Linke, and smaller parties trail further and face entry risks below the five-percent threshold. Coalition barriers and national momentum for the AfD reinforce the implied probability reflected in current market pricing.
