Lula maintains a commanding lead in Pernambuco for first place in the 2026 presidential first round, with recent Quaest and Datafolha surveys showing him at 54-56% against Flávio Bolsonaro at 19-24% and all other registered candidates in single digits. Strong regional backing in the Northeast, combined with positive government approval ratings around 46-62% in the state, underpins the trader consensus reflected in current pricing. The most recent polling from late August reinforces this positioning, with over 80% of respondents describing their preference as firm. Late shifts could arise from turnout variations among undecided voters, unexpected national campaign developments, or changes in local alliances ahead of the October vote.
