Aleksandar Vučić leads the market at 64.5% implied probability following his late June 2026 announcement that he would resign the presidency within weeks and position himself for the prime minister role through his Serbian Progressive Party. His second presidential term ends in 2027, creating a constitutional barrier to re-election that has prompted this shift to retain influence, with party allies explicitly endorsing him as the natural choice and parliament speaker Ana Brnabić voicing support. Prolonged student-led protests since 2024 triggered prior prime ministerial changes, including the exits of Miloš Vučević and Đuro Macut, yet the ruling coalition retains a parliamentary majority that analysts expect to facilitate Vučić’s transition. Lower-priced alternatives such as Vladan Đokić, Stefan Krkobabić, Dragan Đilas, and Ivica Dačić reflect limited expectations of a major power shift ahead of potential snap parliamentary elections.
