The open mayoral race in Oldenburg, following the incumbent's decision not to seek another term, has produced a tight contest among nine confirmed candidates ahead of the September 13 direct election and possible September 27 runoff. Ulf Prange, backed by the SPD, and Jascha Rohr, running as an independent with nominations from the Greens and CDU, lead trader pricing due to their established profiles and party resources, while the remaining contenders draw minimal support. Recent candidate approvals, cross-party endorsements for Rohr, and public debates have reinforced the balanced positioning without major shifts, reflecting voter fragmentation and uncertainty over who will advance or prevail in a potential second round.
