Recent polling for the September 20, 2026 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election shows AfD consistently leading SPD by roughly seven points, with AfD at 35–36 percent and SPD at 27–29 percent in surveys from INSA and Infratest dimap conducted through mid-August. This margin has held across multiple firms since early 2025, reflecting sustained voter shifts away from the incumbent SPD–Left coalition under Minister President Manuela Schwesig. SPD support has fallen sharply from its 39.6 percent result in 2021, while AfD has more than doubled its prior share amid broader eastern German trends favoring the party. With the election weeks away and no major late-breaking developments reported, trader pricing aligns with the stable polling gap that makes an AfD plurality the dominant outcome.
