Recent opinion polls for the September 20, 2026 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election place Die Linke at approximately 11 percent, narrowly ahead of the CDU at around 10 percent, positioning the former as the most likely third-place finisher behind the AfD and SPD. This ordering has held steady across INSA and Infratest dimap surveys through mid-August, reflecting consistent support levels for smaller parties amid AfD dominance in the east. Die Linke benefits from its role in the incumbent SPD-Left coalition and regional voter bases, while the CDU trails amid broader challenges in eastern states. Traders appear to weigh these polling trends and historical third-place patterns when assessing 3rd-place probabilities, with limited volatility in recent weeks.
