Recent polls ahead of Berlin’s September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus election show a tight contest between the CDU and AfD for second place behind the leading Linke. Infratest dimap, INSA, and Forsa surveys from July and August place both parties in the 17–20 percent range, with AfD occasionally edging ahead nationally and locally amid broader gains tied to immigration and economic concerns. The CDU’s shift from outgoing Mayor Kai Wegner to Stefan Evers after a January power outage controversy has kept its support stable but not decisive, while the AfD’s Kristin Brinker candidacy benefits from sustained momentum. Trader consensus at 57 percent for AfD reflects these narrow polling margins and the party’s recent upward trend in multiple surveys.
