**Recent strong S&P Global flash services PMI data for August and the sector’s steady expansion streak anchor trader expectations for the official ISM reading near or above 54.** The July ISM Services PMI printed at 54.1, extending 25 consecutive months above 50, with business activity surging to 59.1 and new orders rising to 57.2, while employment slipped back into contraction at 47.4 and prices paid climbed to 70.3 amid ongoing tariff and energy cost pressures. The August S&P flash services gauge jumped to a 20-month high of 56.8, well above consensus, signaling firmer demand and hiring momentum that market participants are pricing into the ISM distribution. This supports the leading 55.0–55.9 bucket at 42.9% implied probability, followed by 53.0–53.9 at 32.0% and 54.0–54.9 at 18.1%, reflecting a tight cluster around the recent 54-handle average. Persistent cost pressures and softer employment readings introduce downside risk, but resilient new orders and consumer spending keep the balance tilted toward moderate expansion. The September 3 release will resolve the market amid stable labor-market conditions and no near-term Fed rate changes.
