This market will resolve to "Yes" if a law with the effect of making Daylight Saving Time the permanent, year-round time across the United States, is enacted into law by December 31, 2026 at 11:59PM. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No". The existence of any carve-outs or exceptions shall not be relevant for purposes of this market. The primary resolution source is Congress.gov’s legislation tracker (https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/3633) and other official information from the government of the United States, however other credible reporting may be used. The House passed the Sunshine Protection Act (H.R. 139) on July 14, 2026, by a 308-117 vote to establish year-round daylight saving time, advancing standard time by one hour permanently for most states with limited opt-out options for exempt areas. President Trump endorsed the measure, which cleared the House Energy and Commerce Committee after incorporation into broader legislation, reflecting bipartisan support and state-level interest from roughly 19 legislatures conditioning action on federal approval. However, the companion Senate bill remains stalled in the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee with no floor action scheduled, amid competing proposals for permanent standard time and historical precedent of Senate delays on similar reforms. With the 2026 clock-change window closing soon and no confirmed timeline for Senate passage or enactment, trader consensus assigns an 85% probability against implementation this year.
