This market will resolve to “Yes” if Mohammed Ghalibaf ceases to be the Speaker of the Parliament of Iran for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Mohammed Ghalibaf's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. If the specified individual is detained, effectively removed from the specified position, or otherwise permanently prevented from fulfilling the duties of the specified position within this market’s timeframe, it will qualify for a “Yes” resolution. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Mohammed Ghalibaf and the government of Iran; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf remains Speaker of Iran's Majlis following his May 2026 re-election for a seventh consecutive term with a strong majority of 235 votes. Trader sentiment on removal by a given date centers on factional tensions between pragmatic conservatives supporting his lead role in US negotiations via the Islamabad MoU and ultraconservative critics from the Paydari faction who accuse him of softening resistance and bypassing parliamentary oversight. Recent public exchanges with figures like Kayhan editor Hossein Shariatmadari highlight these divides amid paused conflict and economic sanctions. An internal parliamentary vote earlier showed limited opposition confined to under 30 lawmakers, while Ghalibaf continues active diplomacy and legislative coordination. Key upcoming catalysts include ongoing Majlis sessions on foreign policy bills and any shifts in Supreme Leader directives or diplomatic outcomes that could alter internal alignments before the next annual leadership vote.
