Early buzz around Anne Hathaway’s supporting turn in Christopher Nolan’s ambitious The Odyssey and Penélope Cruz in A24’s The Invite drives current trader sentiment, with both actresses benefiting from high-profile campaigns and prestige directors. At this nascent stage of the 2027 race, historical patterns favor established stars in awards-friendly studio and indie vehicles, while guild precursors and critics’ groups remain months away. Supporting categories often reward scene-stealing work in ensemble epics or layered character pieces, creating openings for names like Parker Posey or Sandra Hüller if their projects deliver strong reviews and box-office momentum. The market reflects skin-in-the-game consensus on frontrunners but remains fluid ahead of 2026 festival debuts and release schedules.
