This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. “Orbital data center” refers to any spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent technology carrying computing infrastructure that is launched into Earth’s orbit for the purpose of providing data-center, cloud-computing, or artificial intelligence computing services and which includes at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors, (e.g. NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent or successor chips). “Successfully launched” refers to any launch which successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into Earth’s orbit. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.Recent funding rounds and FCC filings are accelerating trader focus on orbital AI data centers, with Starcloud raising $250 million in August 2026 at a $2.3 billion valuation after launching the first NVIDIA H100 GPU into orbit in November 2025 and successfully training a large language model in space. SpaceX has proposed up to one million AI satellites with potential deployments starting in 2028, while Blue Origin filed for 51,600 units and Google plans 2027 prototype launches with Planet under Project Suncatcher using tensor processing units. These efforts target space-based solar power and radiative cooling to bypass terrestrial energy constraints, though high launch costs, radiation hardening, and regulatory approvals remain key hurdles. Near-term catalysts include Starcloud’s follow-on missions and multiple 2027 demonstration flights that could validate commercial viability.
