The Knesset completed its full four-year term and dissolved on July 17, 2026, setting the stage for the October 27 vote—the first scheduled election without early dissolution since 1988. Coalition efforts to advance an earlier date through dissolution legislation ultimately failed to shift the legally fixed timeline, and campaign activities including party list submissions, primaries, and candidate registrations have proceeded without interruption. Recent polling and opposition maneuvers reflect standard pre-election dynamics rather than any procedural barriers, reinforcing trader consensus around the fixed date amid typical Israeli parliamentary processes.
