Elevated 30-year mortgage rates near 6.5–6.75% continue to constrain buyer demand and affordability in the Los Angeles Metro area, supporting market-implied odds clustered tightly around $1.137M–$1.153M with 48.4% and 39.5% probabilities respectively. Recent Redfin and Zillow data through mid-2026 show median sale prices and home values largely flat to modestly lower year-over-year amid rising inventory and longer days on market, reflecting a shift toward balance without sharp price declines. Persistent rate levels, limited new supply, and cautious trader positioning ahead of September 30 resolution heighten sensitivity to any near-term shifts in Fed policy signals, labor data, or seasonal transaction volumes that could tip the outcome within the narrow bands.
