**Recent Swedish polling shows the Social Democrats (S) leading at around 30-31%, followed by the Sweden Democrats (SD) near 19% and the Moderates (M) at 17-18%, locking the top three spots ahead of the September 13 election.** This leaves fifth place contested among the next tier of parties—primarily the Left Party (V), Greens (MP), Centre (C), and Christian Democrats (KD)—whose support levels cluster tightly between roughly 6% and 8% across late-summer surveys from Novus, Verian, and Demoskop. Trader consensus prices reflect this uncertainty, with MP at 31.5%, V at 24.5%, C at 24.0%, and KD at 18.5% implied probability for fifth place, while major parties sit near zero. The race remains close because small shifts in turnout, bloc switching, or late-campaign focus on cost-of-living, crime, and security issues can reorder these four parties. A recent school attack has heightened security discussions, potentially influencing smaller-party momentum, while the Liberals’ persistent weakness below the 4% threshold adds volatility to seat projections. Final-week polling releases, televised debates, or economic data releases could widen or narrow the gaps among these contenders.
