In the 2026 NFL season, trader sentiment for the first running back to reach 1,000 rushing yards focuses on workhorse backs in run-heavy schemes, particularly Jahmyr Gibbs in Detroit and Bijan Robinson in Atlanta, who enter with strong preseason projections for high carry totals behind effective offensive lines. Recent rankings and unit evaluations emphasize these players alongside Jonathan Taylor, Derrick Henry, and James Cook for their volume potential and recent form, while factors like early schedules, backfield committee risks, and injury reports could alter timelines. Strong offensive line play, favorable early matchups, and teams leaning on the ground game often accelerate the milestone, though workload distribution and defensive adjustments remain key variables in the opening weeks.

A player reaches 1,000 rushing yards at the moment his cumulative 2026-27 NFL regular season rushing yards total equals or exceeds 1,000. Only regular season games count. Playoff games, including Wild Card, Divisional, Conference Championship, and Pro Football Championship games, do not count.
If two or more running backs reach 1,000 rushing yards within the same game, or in separate games that have the same scheduled kickoff time, the market for each such player who reaches the mark will resolve to "Yes".
If the listed player does not play in the 2026-27 NFL regular season for any reason, the associated market will resolve to "No".
If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is shortened, truncated, or ends early for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available official data for completed games.
If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined which running back first reached 1,000 rushing yards within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "50-50".
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
