The 2026 NFL season opens with a wide-open QBR race, as reflected in the tightly bunched probabilities topping out near 11%. Patrick Mahomes returns from a prior ACL injury amid questions about the Chiefs' supporting cast and recent offensive struggles, while Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow remain elite but face typical durability and supporting-cast variables. Drake Maye’s strong 2025 efficiency gains and improved weapons position him as a leading riser alongside other young passers like Jayden Daniels, C.J. Stroud, and Caleb Williams. Veteran options such as Jordan Love, Dak Prescott, and Brock Purdy add depth, with preseason metrics and roster stability offering limited separation. This parity across experience levels, recent form swings, and team contexts keeps implied probabilities clustered and responsive to early-season developments.
