Goldman Sachs holds a commanding 75.5% implied probability in trader consensus for leading OpenAI’s IPO, driven by its recent selection as lead-left bookrunner on the record SpaceX offering and dominant track record guiding major technology listings. OpenAI’s confidential S-1 filing in early June 2026 positioned both Goldman and Morgan Stanley as primary bookrunners, yet Goldman’s edge in allocation influence and execution depth has widened its lead over Morgan Stanley’s 24.5% odds. Separate deal teams established by the banks to handle competing OpenAI and Anthropic mandates underscore the high-stakes competition. While reports of a potential 2027 listing delay surfaced in June amid market volatility and valuation targets near $1 trillion, these have not altered the core underwriter dynamics or upcoming catalysts such as formal lead announcements.

If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or OpenAI completes an initial public offering without a designated lead underwriter, this market will resolve to “Other.”
If multiple banks are identified as lead underwriters, this market will resolve according to the primary lead underwriter. If the hierarchy between them is unclear, this market will resolve once it is conclusively evident which bank is the primary lead underwriter, for example, through the order in which the banks are listed in the underwriting section of OpenAI's final initial public offering prospectus, once released.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official disclosures from OpenAI. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
