São Tomé and Príncipe’s parliamentary election on September 27 will fill all 55 National Assembly seats under proportional representation, with 28 needed for a majority. Trader pricing favors MLSTP at 64.5% implied probability after incumbent President Carlos Vila Nova, backed by an MLSTP–PSD alliance, secured re-election on July 19 with roughly 56% of the vote against the main ADI-backed challenger at 41%. This result followed the 2025 dismissal of ADI Prime Minister Patrice Trovoada, which triggered internal ADI divisions and the appointment of a replacement from the same party. ADI sits at 24.5% amid those fractures, while smaller parties remain at or below 1.1%. The short campaign window and recent presidential momentum continue to shape crowd-sourced assessments ahead of polling day.
