Recent opinion polls ahead of Sweden’s September 13 parliamentary election show the centre-left bloc anchored by Social Democrats leader Magdalena Andersson maintaining a roughly 10-point advantage over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s right-wing Tidö coalition. This sustained lead in bloc support has driven trader consensus toward Andersson as the next prime minister, reflecting expectations that the Red-Greens alliance will secure enough seats to form a government. Incumbent parties have historically struggled to close large deficits in the final campaign phase. Factors that could still alter outcomes include late swings in voter turnout among swing blocs, unforeseen domestic or foreign policy developments, or complex post-election negotiations over coalition partners and policy priorities.
