This market will resolve to "Yes" if there have been the specified amount or more confirmed cases of Measles (Rubeola) in humans in the territory of the United States of America in 2026 according to the CDC case counter between January 1, 2026, 12:00 AM ET and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter (see: https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html) at the resolution time. If the counter becomes unavailable, another credible source will be used. Note: Only cases reported by the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter will qualify, regardless of reports from U.S. State agencies or other sources. As of late August 2026, the CDC has confirmed 2,777 measles cases across 47 jurisdictions, driven by 36 outbreaks with 94% of infections outbreak-associated and linked to declining MMR vaccination coverage (now at 92.4% among kindergartners, with exemptions at 4.2%). Nearly all cases (94%) involve unvaccinated or unknown-status individuals, consistent with measles' high transmissibility via respiratory droplets and historical patterns where sustained community spread occurs below 95% herd immunity thresholds. Recent additions of 211 cases in one week, concentrated in Pennsylvania and Ohio, plus two confirmed deaths in unvaccinated Pennsylvania residents, reflect accelerating domestic transmission. Weekly CDC surveillance updates and the Pan American Health Organization's November elimination status review represent key upcoming data points that could influence trader assessments of year-end totals.
