This market will resolve to "Yes" if there have been the specified amount or more confirmed cases of Measles (Rubeola) in humans in the territory of the United States of America in 2026 according to the CDC case counter between January 1, 2026, 12:00 AM ET and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter (see: https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html) at the resolution time. If the counter becomes unavailable, another credible source will be used. Note: Only cases reported by the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter will qualify, regardless of reports from U.S. State agencies or other sources.Accelerating outbreaks, fueled by low MMR vaccination coverage in clustered communities and multiple importations, are driving the sharp rise in U.S. measles cases. As of August 20, 2026, the CDC reports 2,777 confirmed cases—already exceeding the full-year 2025 total of 2,289—with 94% outbreak-associated across 36 new clusters and the majority involving unvaccinated children and adolescents. Transmission remains highly efficient via airborne routes in under-immunized populations, consistent with historical patterns before widespread MMR use. Weekly CDC surveillance updates, school-year mixing, and any shifts in state-level vaccination enforcement represent key upcoming data points that could alter the trajectory through year-end. Trader sentiment reflects this sustained momentum amid ongoing epidemiological surveillance.
