If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results published by Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian government sources.Obafemi Hamzat holds the leading position in the Lagos 2027 gubernatorial market due to his selection as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Bola Tinubu endorsed him early in 2026, followed by the party's Governance Advisory Council. Hamzat secured the APC nomination in the May 2026 primary with over 657,000 votes against minimal opposition after other aspirants withdrew. His background as deputy governor, former commissioner for works and infrastructure, and involvement in major projects supports trader consensus around continuity within the APC, which has held the governorship since 1999. Recent campaign activity, including policy statements on housing and infrastructure, alongside endorsements from professional groups, has reinforced his position ahead of the election. Lower-priced opposition candidates reflect limited organized challenges at this stage.
