Commerce Department announcements in July 2026 added six semiconductor firms to the portfolio, while earlier deals included positions in Intel and GlobalFoundries; the Pentagon has pursued similar arrangements in rare-earth and missile-related businesses. Senate NDAA provisions from June 2026 would formalize and constrain the Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Capital equity account, potentially influencing the pace and scope of new transactions through year-end.
