This market will resolve to "Yes" if either the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Saudi Arabia formally announces that they have suspended diplomatic relations with the other by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM Gulf Standard Time. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be official information from either respective government; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Traders assign a 95.7% implied probability against the UAE and Saudi Arabia severing diplomatic relations in 2026 because longstanding institutional ties, including GCC membership and joint defense arrangements, have contained recent frictions. Divergences over Yemen proxy alignments, the UAE’s May 2026 OPEC exit, oil production levels, Sudan involvement, and financial transfer oversight have surfaced publicly since late 2025, yet both governments have issued coordinated statements in July 2026 reaffirming solidarity against Houthi threats and brotherly relations. Shared security interests regarding Iran and regional stability continue to outweigh competitive economic and influence gaps. Severance remains improbable absent a major escalation that overrides these frameworks, though sustained proxy clashes or further economic measures could test the current equilibrium before year-end.
