This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the NH-01 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Democratic primary will take place on September 8, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democrat sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market. The tight trader consensus between Stefany Shaheen and Maura Sullivan in the September 8 NH-01 Democratic primary reflects high undecided voter shares and competing strengths ahead of the late-summer sprint. Shaheen benefits from established name recognition as a former Portsmouth city councilor and daughter of retiring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, along with endorsements from labor groups and some national Democrats, while positioning herself on health care access and medical research. Sullivan has closed the gap through superior fundraising totals and cash on hand, a veterans coalition endorsement, and appeals to change from the status quo, aided by her Marine Corps and Obama administration background. A recent Saint Anselm poll showed Sullivan narrowly ahead amid elevated undecideds, though earlier surveys favored Shaheen; issue contrasts on Medicare expansion versus a public option and negative ads on donor sources could further shift momentum before ballots are cast.
