PL leads trader consensus for the most seats after Brazil’s October 2026 Senate election renewing 54 of 81 seats because its candidates top or place second in the largest number of state-level polls. The party’s existing 15-16 seat bloc, combined with strong recruitment in bolsonarista strongholds such as Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Rondônia, underpins projections of roughly 20 seats. MDB follows closely in regional depth but trails overall in aggregated forecasts. Recent July–August 2026 surveys from Congresso em Foco, Genial/Quaest, and VEJA confirm PL’s edge in competitive races while showing PT and smaller parties lagging. Flávio Bolsonaro’s PL presidential candidacy offers limited coattails but has not altered the state-by-state Senate picture. No major candidate withdrawals or alliances have shifted the ranking in the final pre-campaign window.
