**Trader consensus on the 2028 presidential election reflects frontrunner positioning in both parties.** Republican primary polling and betting markets show Vice President JD Vance leading with support in the high 30s to low 40s, ahead of Marco Rubio and other male contenders, while Donald Trump Jr. also registers notable backing. On the Democratic side, Kamala Harris tops many national primary averages near 25-30 percent, yet Gavin Newsom, Pete Buttigieg, and Josh Shapiro remain competitive alongside rising progressive options. Early general-election matchups frequently show Republican men competitive or ahead. These dynamics, combined with the open field after the 2024 cycle and structural barriers to female nominees reaching the general election, underpin the 72.5 percent probability traders assign to a male winner.
