Early in the 2026-27 LaLiga campaign, mid-table positioning after the opening fixtures shapes trader views on the Conference League spot, typically awarded to sixth or seventh place depending on Copa del Rey outcomes. Sevilla’s perfect start with six points from two matches, alongside competitive results from Alavés, Atlético Madrid, and Espanyol, has tightened the race among sides outside the top four. Barcelona and Real Madrid, boosted by high-profile summer signings and Mourinho’s arrival at the Bernabéu, sit among the frontrunners but face packed schedules. Key upcoming factors include head-to-head clashes, squad depth amid European commitments, and any late injury or rotation impacts that could swing momentum for teams like Villarreal, Betis, or Getafe chasing European qualification.
