The Croatian HNL's 2026-27 campaign opens with Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split widely viewed as the leading contenders for the top two spots, which has left a broad group of clubs tightly bunched in the battle for third. Rijeka, Osijek, Varaždin, Lokomotiva, and Istra 1961 enter the season with comparable squad depth, recent mid-table finishes, and similar strength ratings, producing near-even implied probabilities across the field. Pre-season preparations and early fixtures have yet to create meaningful separation, while typical factors such as home/away splits, European commitments for the top sides, and injury management remain balanced. This parity sustains the close trader consensus until results begin to differentiate the group over the opening months.
