The 2026-27 Eredivisie campaign opens with PSV as clear title favorites after three straight titles, leaving a crowded chase for the remaining European qualification spots that includes traditional contenders like Feyenoord and Ajax alongside AZ, Twente, and several others. Early-season results show the big three drawing their opening home fixtures, while promoted sides and mid-table clubs such as Go Ahead Eagles and NEC demonstrate strong starts that underscore squad depth and transfer activity across the league. With no dominant challenger emerging and historical patterns of parity in the battle for third, trader consensus reflects broad parity, as roster changes, fixture congestion, and variable form create multiple realistic paths for a wide field of teams to secure that position.
