The Egyptian Premier League's 2026-27 title race remains wide open in the early weeks, with trader pricing reflecting broad parity among established sides and promoted challengers. Defending champions Zamalek enter under a FIFA transfer ban that limited reinforcements, while Al Ahly's quiet window produced no major additions despite their historical dominance. Pyramids FC, runners-up in recent seasons, opened with a 3-0 win and drew expert backing for new coach Rhulani Mokwena to deliver the breakthrough, yet the new two-phase format—top six advancing to a championship group—spreads opportunity. Multiple clubs posted opening victories, underscoring even squad depth and the absence of a runaway favorite after last season's tight finish.
