In the 2026 K League 1 season, FC Seoul's commanding lead at the top has shifted trader focus squarely onto the battle for second place, where a cluster of mid-to-upper table sides remain separated by just a handful of points after roughly 24 matches. Daejeon Hana Citizen, Jeju SK, Ulsan HD, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Gangwon FC, and Pohang Steelers sit in a tight group, with recent results showing Daejeon posting strong away form and key wins that have kept them in the mix despite earlier inconsistency. Jeju SK and others have shown resilience through draws and narrow victories, while schedule congestion, squad depth, and home/away splits continue to shape momentum heading into the final third of the campaign. This parity across multiple contenders, combined with the league's split-phase format and promotion/relegation implications for lower sides, underpins the narrow implied probabilities traders have assigned to the runner-up outcome.
