Lan Mi, the 21-year-old Chinese player ranked near 465 with a strong 2026 hard-court record exceeding 30 wins, faces 30-year-old Brazilian Carolina Alves (ranked around 313) in the W35 Barueri quarterfinals on outdoor hard courts. Mi has compiled consistent recent results on the surface, including a dominant R16 win here, while Alves, a clay-court specialist with multiple ITF titles on that surface, has posted solid but mostly clay-focused results this season and benefits from home-country support. The hard-court matchup and Mi’s superior recent form on the faster surface represent the primary factors shaping trader consensus on the outcome.
