Funa Kozaki and Eunji Lee, both unranked or outside the top 1000 in WTA standings, meet on outdoor hard courts in the ITF W15 Tianjin 4 qualifying draw. Kozaki holds a 2-0 head-to-head edge, including a straight-sets victory over Lee on hard courts in Taipei last year, which highlights her edge in baseline rallies and experience on Asian hard surfaces. Lee enters with strong recent form in the Tianjin series, including a win in the prior event, but faces a player who has competed steadily in regional ITF events through 2026. Key variables include serve consistency under typical late-August conditions in Tianjin and any fatigue from back-to-back tournaments, with the surface rewarding steady movement and fewer unforced errors over power.
