Lukas Neumayer, the higher-ranked Austrian at world No. 171, faces Oliver Crawford, ranked No. 227, in the first round of US Open qualifying on hard courts. Crawford enters with stronger recent hard-court momentum after multiple wins at the Segovia Challenger in July, while Neumayer’s 2026 results show a 38-28 overall record but limited success on hard surfaces and early exits in ATP events. Their head-to-head stands tied at 1-1, with Neumayer’s most recent victory coming on clay in 2024. Serve and return metrics indicate a tight contest, with minor edges for each player in different areas, and both compete regularly at the Challenger level where outcomes often hinge on current form and surface adaptation.
